FROM THE WINY RADIO NEWSROOM: (PUTNAM) This upcoming Saturday the Danielson Veteran’s Coffeehouse is handing out turkey’s at the Putnam Farmers Market located at 18 Kennedy Drive in Putnam at 12 PM. Danielson Veteran’s Coffeehouse Vice President Bruce Hay broke the news during his appearance on the WINY Morning Show this morning. “This upcoming Saturday down at the Putnam Farmer’s Market we’re going to be handing out turkeys and all the fixings to go with it. Once again this year the Hometown Foundation, which is out of Cheshire contacted us and said would you like turkeys again. So, Saturday morning we’re going down to New Haven. Uncle Dan and Myself. Uncle Dan has a truck that we can use and we’re picking up the turkeys, coming back. Hopefully being able to help more people with Thanksgiving dinner.” Hay said that 200 turkey’s will be given away, with more Thanksgiving supplies being given away as well.“I’m going to hand out 200. I’m picking up 300, but some of them are going to VFW’s and American Legion’s for their veterans. They’re also giving away us five pounds of potatoes, a can of corn, a couple can of green beans. Abba’s Army has helped us with boxes of stuffing and Ocean State Job Lot is supplying the gravy to go with it.”The event is open to everyone and is first come first serve.
